Everyone in our office has tremendous talents that they bring to the table. From design, investing, and more, we are proud that our team is made up of interesting and creative minds. Including our power couple agents, Jenny and Josh Leclair, the owners of Leclair Lifestyle, who use their creative talents to build a business that flourishes alongside our work at East Group. Recently I had the pleasure of asking them a few questions about how they got into Real Estate.
1.) How did you get into real estate?
We almost always do things as a team and we were very excited to be able to use our drive and personalities to transition into Real Estate. Both having worked in corporate jobs, we realized that we would be much happier exploring our entrepreneurial spirits.
2.) How did you get into design?
I have always loved Interior Design even before I pursued it professionally, coupled with Jennifer’s amazing eye for detail it was a no-brainer. I understood that I needed to be formally trained in order to hone my skills, so I made the decision to enroll at the New York Institute of Art and Design and obtain my degree. There’s something very special about creating beautiful spaces for our clients! When all of the aspects come together to create mood and function for our clients it gives us a sense of pride and purpose.
3.) What is your favorite kind of project to work on, what role does each of you play, and how does that help you achieve your goals as a team?
Honestly, we love working on all of our projects. Although, the most rewarding ones are the ones that challenge our creativity the most and push us out of our comfort zone. I truly think we collaborate on every project, it really depends on the scope of the project. Most frequently we collaborate on the design aspects, Jennifer does the majority of the sourcing and I create the design with 3D renderings, virtual tours, and scale model floor plans. In addition, I complete several aspects of construction. We both communicate with our clients and manage aspects of our projects.
4.) How does your design company complement your real estate ventures?
We really think the two are a perfect match. We are able to guide our client’s vision beyond what the property may currently appear to offer. We can help them see the possibilities.
5.)What kind of things do you like to do in your spare time outside of work?
We love spending time with our two dogs, Napoli and Brooklyn. We enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, kayaking, skiing, dining out, and enjoy museums and art in general.
