Newton Real Estate

Newton, in eastern Massachusetts, sits alongside the Charles River and west to the state capital Boston. The city compromises a number of villages including, Waban, Nonantum, Newton Ville, Newton Upper Falls, Newton Centre, and Auburndale as well as the northern area of Chestnut Hill that it shares with its neighboring city, Brookline. Thanks to the abundance of streets lined with trees and open green spaces, it has the nickname of The Garden City.

Like much of Greater Boston and Massachusetts, Newton is well-known for its renowned educational institutions, with it being home to Lasell College and Newton Theological School alongside Boston College, which is found in Chestnut Hill.

The city is also the location of many points of historical interest and significance. The Jackson Homestead, now operating as Newton History Museum at the Jackson Homestead was once a stop along the Underground Railroad. There are now many interesting exhibits including artifacts, maps, manuscripts, photographs, costumes, and paintings.

Actors such as Matt Le Blanc, John Krasinski, Amy Poehler, and Priyanka Chopra all come from Newton or the surrounding area. Interestingly, you may not know that the delicious Fig Newton cookie, is named after the city of Newton, rather than Sir Isaac Newton as many have claimed in the past.
